Dear Parents,
We had so much fun yesterday at the silent disco party we earned with all your donations! THANK YOU! Please remember to send your child to school in running shoes tomorrow and with a water bottle for the Fun Run. It will be on the field from 9:30-10:15AM if you would like to join us. We are the Pink Panthers!
We had an eventful week learning about farm animals! We learned that farms are areas of land that grow crops and raise animals that give us food. We read about each animal and the products that help us to grow and thrive. The farmer delivered eggs to our room today that we dyed into beautiful colors at centers! We know that farm animals are domestic, and we can pet them. After spring break, we will explore wild animals and compare them with what we learned about farm animals this week.
We also learned that plants and animals are living things that grow, reproduce, need energy (food), and breathe. We were sad that our field trip to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens was postponed but can't wait to go on April 11! Our butterflies are eagerly awaiting their next phase! We are hoping that at least ONE of the ten will wait until we return from spring break to emerge.
In math, we are learning that we can combine two quantities together to equal a sum with beginning addition. We know what a plus sign and equal sign means. We are learning to count up from a given number.
Photos have been added for this week under Class Photos. I will add pictures from the Fun Run and our kindergarten - 3rd grade House Buddy get together tomorrow!
I am headed to see my little grandson for spring break (6 weeks old now) and hope you all have an amazing time with family and friends on your time off as well.
Thanks,
Traci
